I think your gift is the fact that you are going to France for the wedding. I certainly would not expect gifts too. In fact I think it is very rude for a couple to have a destination wedding and ask people to pay so much in order to be in the wedding party or even to attend the wedding. You’ve spent enough money, Im sure they are not expecting any gifts.

what i would do(and i would do this if they were getting married down the street, never mind a different country), is ask if they had a gift list…this is what people NEED as presents to start a life together, the reason being people ask for things they need, not WANT from a wedding…be the man, do the right thing, if they havent got a list, ask what they want…if they dont know, u choose something……ive been to many weddings and the couple dont give a fuck anyway

If the couples are Amercian but only like a weeding in France , it’s easy . Buy gifts before wedding and ask them what they need. If they are French, here is the tip , call them and ask them what a unique gift from US they really need , and hard to find it in France . There are so many things we have but not in France.
Buy the way, you may get very cheap air ticket by searching internet and order it now.

If you can afford it have a gift sent to their home before or after the wedding. If you are strapped for cash I am sure they would understand that making the trip was the best you could do. Or maybe a solution to this problem could be getting second copies of the pictures you take and putting together a photo album of the trip. It would be thoughtful, cheap, and would remind the bride and groom that you spent the money and went to France for their special day?!? I don’t know Just a suggestion.

If ii was the bride I’d just be very thankful my friends and family are there.
