What’s the Best and Easiest way to get a “Mail-Order Bride”?
All of my personal reasons for wanting to do so aside, does anyone have any experience with getting a foreign bride? I’d like to try this out or at least look into it. For the sake of this question we’ll assume country of origin is China.
Reasons aside, I have a few concerns:
1) Price: How much are we talking here?
2) Language/Culture Barrier: How hard is it to get over this hump?
3) How can I ensure that she won’t just marry me, then get a divorce to get citizenship and half my stuff?
4) Reputable Contact: I’ve seen companies that try to set me up with “foreign brides” but no way to tell if they’re legitimate. How do I know I’m not talking to an inmate in Jersey?
As to my reasons, I’d like to find a lady who grew up in a traditionalist culture. I’m sick of american women who only want to go out and party and treat relationships like a game. I’d like to be married by the time I’m 30, and I’m sick of playing around. It sounds psychotic, but if I have to pay her family to get a wife, so be it.

I think this is a terrible idea. In answer to number 3, you really have no assurance. I am sure there are a lot of people and agencies that are only doing this for the money and citizenship, so why bother with this when there’s no guarantee?
Okay, now that you’ve clarified your reasons a little bit, it sounds more like you want to be in a relationship with someone who has more “traditional values.” Instead of going to the trouble of getting someone from another country (and there’s no guarantee that person will have those “traditional values” you’re looking for), why not try an online dating site like eharmony.com. I’m sure there are other websites that are more specifically for the type of person you’re looking for, but eharmony is well known because the people who go on it are really looking for serious relationships and to settle down. I think that the site does extensive questionnaires and things like that so you can specify what you’re looking for in a wife. If you find someone you truly love, that’s the best way to ensure that she won’t just dump you to get half your stuff. Wouldn’t that be better than having to go through the trouble of finding a mail-order bride?
